10 Indian travel series on Youtube that’ll keep you up at night

There’s nothing like binging on a well put together Indian travel series – whether you’re at home wanting to inject yourself with a dose of wanderlust or simply want to stay curious and connected – travel series is always a good idea to stoke your inner wanderlust.

Plenty of such series exist on several OTT platforms and on the internet as a whole which makes it daunting to figure out just what to watch and what not to watch, but I’ve chosen 10 Indian travel series on Youtube (very best ofcourse!) to help you narrow it down:

1. TVF Tripling

Tripling is an epic adventurous story of three siblings namely Chandan, Chanchal & Chitvan who embark upon an impulsive journey of their lifetime after being entangled in their daily problems and basically life as we know. The cast is shown road-tripping across several locations within India in total 2 seasons and 10 episodes released as of now. First season of this amazing series was released in the year 2016, at a time when Indian web series industry was evolving. The amazing locations featured in this Tripling Season 1 were Manali and Jodhpur while in Season 2 we get to see Kolkata, Lucknow and Sikkim. But do you think they were able to solve their problems in this road-trip?

2. Soulmates

Soulmates is a hardluck story of the two ex-schoolmates namely Anshul Chauhan and Priyanshu Painyuli who accidentally bump into each other while on their trip to Shillong. Priyanshu, who happens to be an aspiring music composer comes to Shillong chasing a popular girl of a rock band, ends up meets his schoolmate Anshul who is on a solo bike trip across northeast. In this 10 episode series of the 1st and only season released as yet, they explore Shillong, Umbling and nearby waterfalls together in search of this popular girl of the rock band but is it as simple as it appears to be?

3. Backpackers

Backpackers is a rattling good mini-webseries revolving around Kanan and a group of free-spirited college friends namely Era, Shivang and Anna who accidently meet each other on a bus during a road-trip to Manali and this unforgettable journey sparks a never ending bond in them. The mini-series talks about Kanan’s solo travelling adventure with a group of complete strangers, who help him not only to get out of his comfort zone but also help him undergo a perspective change as a person. Apart from that the 1st and only season of the series also shares each individual’s life-stories, fun times and why this particular trip was special to each one of them. Find out more on Youtube!

4. World of MG: Homecoming

Two friends and travellers namely Aisha & Ayush set out on an knockabout road-trip across different parts of India in their new MG Hector car. Their journey begins from the picturesque Southern India in Season 1 followed by the photogenic North-east India in season 2 and finally end up exploring the historical Rajasthan in season 3. In the entire series they take you to stunning spots and give detailed information about these places coupled with some fun-filled experiences. This series surely inspires you to explore each and every corner of our Incredible India and motivates you to take on new challenges in life but more importantly has an ability to transport you to a different world altogether. 5. Bazaar Travels

Bazaar travels, as the name suggests, is all about checking out some of the really old Indian markets in the vibrant cities of India namely Jodhpur, Kolkata, Delhi and Jaipur. Barkha Singh, an actress and travel enthusiast takes us on a journey through the narrow lanes of Sardar market in Jodhpur in season 1 followed by Mullick Ghat Flower Market, New Market (Hogg’s Market), Kumartuli, College Street (Boi Para) markets in Kolkata in season 2 after which she heads straight to the popular Chandni Chowk and Shahpur Jat market in Delhi in season 3 and ends her quest in Johari bazaar, Bapu Bazaar in Jaipur in the final season 4. 6. Rise

Rise is an award winning web-series about an IT guy Shrey (Vikrant Massey) who after years of savings and hard work buys his dream bike – Ducati Scrambler 800 cc and is excited about the new day at work with his new bike but nothing works for him as he had planned. Life takes a complete U-turn for him once he reaches his office and thus starts this incredible bike-trip from Pune to Gangtok. The series talks about meeting new people irrespective of age and how people are constantly running as a part of the rat race and hardly taking a stop to live for themselves. Something worth thinking about, isn’t it?

7. Azad Parindey

Azad Parindey is a 1 season mini web-series about two groups of youngsters; one coming from Delhi and the other from Mumbai who meet each other at Rishikesh waiting for their respective tour guides for two different treks. Due to some mix up on part of the tour guide, both the groups find out that they are part of the same trek which takes them on an fun filled adventure of a lifetime. This three episode series talks about youth bonding and friendships, something that travel has always preached about. So how many friends have you made on your travels?

8. India on a plate

India on a plate is a food related travel show where the stunning actress Kubbra Sait travels across the length and breadth of India in search of some lip-smacking Indian dishes and also gives you a brief history about these dishes. Right from the north to the west to the south to the east she explores the food culture of differents part of India while imparting knowledge behind the making of these dishes. You would find total of 18 episodes shot about different varities of food like Kori Roti, Chikki, Hyderabadi Biryani, Ghevar and so much more. Did you know that Chikki is named after the marathi word ‘Chikkat‘ meaning sticky. Hungry right? 10. Away from home
